Dragon attack is one of the effective strategies in attacking TH8 war bases. But, when we say dragon attack, we must consider the Air defense of the opponent’s base. The air defense is a very dangerous defense when it comes to dragon attacks. The use of different breakdowns of spells is also a significant factor to be an effective dragon attack.
The first type of dragon attack is Funneling. This type of dragon attack uses a breakdown of spell which consists of rage, heal or lighting spell. We must get inside the core of the base for us to destroy the town hall.
The first breakdown of spell is; two Rage spells plus one Heal spell.
On this attack, first, we must clean up the exterior buildings so that the dragons will be able to get faster into the core of the opponent’s base. Use one rage spell to get inside the core and eliminate faster all the troops in their clan castle. When the dragons are in the core, air defenses of the opponent are hitting them, that is why, at this point, drop the heal spell to revive or heal the dragons. At the same time, drop the last rage spell for faster wiping the core and cleaning all the buildings. With practice on this attack, you will get 3 stars.
Another breakdown of spells is using Lightning spells.
The last picture above illustrates the use of three Lightning spells. It destroys one air defense so that the only two remaining air defenses will not be that much stronger. But, when using this strategy, we must see first if the two other air defenses are in outer core.
As in the first breakdown of spells, same rules applies when using this breakdown. We must clean up first the exterior buildings to get into the core. When we finished cleaning the exterior buildings, deploy the dragons in the middle of the base so that the dragons can make one way straight to the core.
But, for some instances, this breakdown of spell is not effective enough to get 3 stars. Some of the players are not recommending this. All the dragons will be bleeding out and in need of healing spells. Then, at the end of game, they can get only two stars.
The Next Strategy is the Tactic of Pulling the Troops inside the CC (clan castle). This strategy is called Pulling.
First thing to do is to deploy one dragon in order to pull the troops inside the clan castle. Then, kill the all troops or deploy poison spell to poison the troops. When this tactic is not followed, then dragon deployment will be heavily localized. This causes the CC (clan castle) archers to distract and occupy most of the dragon army for several valuable seconds. And then dragons will be heavily offset and allowing the Air defense of the opponent to eliminate mostly the dragons. But when this tactic is followed, it’s much easier to destroy the building before the core, and not to waste time.
The poison spell is used to kill the enemy troops inside the Clan castle. This spell creates a circle orange toxic cloud that slows and drains the health of the enemy troops. But when we used this in dragon’s enemy team it is not very effective.
When all the air defenses are destroyed, the remaining problem now is the Archer Tower. This is the second problem when using Dragon attack. The archer tower is free hitting the other dragons that have not eliminated and yet causes for not finishing destroying the base or not gaining three stars.
The picture below shows the troops, inside the Clan castle, that is being pulled out in the outer core and eliminated easily. Using this strategy, the dragons can easily get into the core and destroy the air defense. This pulling strategy can get 3 stars because the dragons are deployed in their various positions and then eliminate or destroy all the buildings they can see near them especially the air defense and the Archer towers because, these two defenses are the major problems when using dragon attack.
